Ending A Series
Relax, I’m not ending Dying Days just yet… but I am ending all of the secondary series parts running along with it. I find myself spread way too thin with so much writing to do in 2016 alone. I set aside about 400k to be written and if I did everything I wanted to do it would be upwards of 700k. Not gonna happen.
I also felt it was time to wrap up a few things and concentrate on the main Dying Daysbooks. While I love all the secondary stories and characters, I felt it was distracting for me as an author. While some of my colleagues were working on book seven, eight or nine of their series, I was still on book six and only releasing one a year, even though I write a lot.
That’s why Highway To Hell 2 was the perfect release for me. It brought back character Randy after a five year hiatus from writing him in anything significant, and also allowed me to tie up a loose end in the Dying Days: Origins book. By combining the two stories I wrote a sequel to both I think readers will find satisfying.
For the foreseeable future there won’t be a third release in the Still Dying short story series, either. No third novella for the Dying Days Siege set, either. Not many short stories set in the world unless they end up as bonuses in a box set release or at the end of a main Dying Days book.
This will allow me to focus on getting Dying Days 6 out by the #SummerofZombie tour next June and Dying Days 7 out by next year’s #WinterofZombie blog tour. It might even look like I planned this out, right?
Look for all of these secondary Dying Days books to be released in the very near future as two separate box sets for a really great price.
And look for more of the main Dying Days stories for many years to come…
